Fr Norbert Cummins OCD, late of the Avila Community, passed away peacefully at Sybil Hill Nursing Home on Tuesday 19^th July.  A native of Loughrea, he was one of the first pupils in the Carmelite school in Castlemartyr.  Throughout his time is a Discalced Carmelite Friar he worked as a formator and a novice master in both Loughrea & Gayfield (present day Avila Carmelite Centre).  He also spent time in the UK in Ushaw, Oxford, and his last posting before entering the nursing home was in Glasgow.

The removal will be tomorrow (Thursday 21^st) at 2.30pm from the nursing home to Avila Carmelite Centre for 3pm.  The funeral mass will be the following day at 12noon in The Abbey, Loughrea.  He will be buried in the adjoining cemetery.
