There was a great turnout once again this year for the Youth 2000 festival held in Clonmacnoise. Lots of fun and games were enjoyed by all over the weekend. Live music, talks and testimonies were listened to with great interest and repect by all the young people present. The atmosphere was pleasant and a spirit of friendship and fun prevaded the whole event.

Many Orders were present and took the opportunity to talk and share their unique Charism with all who were interested. We Carmelites were no different. It was a great joy to be able to express to fresh ears the depth and wisdom of our rich Charism and to see the deep interest on the faces of many who had never heard of St. Teresa of Avila or John of the Cross, among others. 

We left the festival at its close on Sunday afternoon with joy and a sense of great hope for the future of the Church and the Christian message that leads us to "life in its fullness".
