St Mary Magdalene de Pazzi |
|
Caterina de ‘Pazzi was born in 1566. From a very early age she was known for her sanctity and had many mystical experiences yet she remained a woman of good common sense. She had a great attraction for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and with a joyful heart received Jesus in First Communion at the age of ten.
She entered the Carmelite Monastery of Santa Maria degli Angeli, Florence in 1582. She was a strong upholder of the value of suffering for the love of God and the salvation of the world.
Prayer:
Father, you love those who give themselves completely to your service, and you filled St Mary Magdalen de’Pazzi with heavenly gifts and the fire of your love. As we honour her today may we follow hw-her example of purity and charity. We make our prayer through Christ, our Lord.
